What makes Davao a Unique City?
February 20, 2007Davao City. Known well for the Kadayawan, or the Festival of Festivals. Philippine Eagle, the national bird of the Philippines. Durian, a fruit delecacy of Davao, Smells like Hell but tastes like heaven. Some of these, are just the things that can be found in Davao and makes it known worldwide. But what really makes it unique?
Davao City is said to be one of the most largest city in not just the Philippines but also the Whole World. Not knowing, we dont need big buildings to know that our city is the biggest, its just that we are the widest. We are not only the widest but we are also one clean city, air and water. Compared to the other cities in the Philippines, Davao City is one clean-aired city, Manila is full of fumes and smoke while in Davao, we had some shares of it but its not really. that we have black skies. We do own one of the most cleanest part of the Water, in Dumoy.
Davao City is the home of the world-renowned Endangered Specie, Philippine Eagle, the National Bird of the Phillipines. Philippine Eagle is mostly seen in Davao City, some in captivity, some free in the Wild. Not many cities in the Philippines have the Philippine Eagle Observatory.
When we speak of Davao, Durian will not be left out of the talk. Durian is the most smelly fruit and is one that is very hard even to hold. But not looking from the physical appearance, when the durian enters our mouth, it somehow unleashes a taste of something uniquely yummy.
What more can we say from Davao City? It has the Univeristy of the Immaculate Conception there, the first university in Davao City.
