What Makes A BestFriend Unique From A Special Friend?

First of all, I got confused with the question. I mean, isnt Bestfriend the same with Special friend? Arent Bestfriend considered as your Special friend? But then again, they may have some difference between them, and Im going to find out what.

Friends really do come and go. But there are some friends that will stay by your side wherever and whenever you go. Friends that will comfort you when you feel down and depressed. Friends that will be there for you when you need a hand to hold on or a shoulder to lean on. Friends that will show encouragement when you need a hand and friends that will help you stand when you fall down. Friends that you can say your problems, crushes and secrets too, and be sure that they will keep them. Those friends are what we consider as our "Best friends".

Gabrilla Montez: Do you remember in kindergarten,how you’d meet a kid, and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you’d be playing like you were best friends, because you didn’t have to be anyone but yourself?

Look at the word "Like" at the phrase "playing like you were best friends". You can never say that the friend that you just knew is your bestfriend if you havent placed your trust, love and confidence towards that person. Bestfriends is not just being there for you, but its being there for you ALWAYS.

Now, the question of it all. What is the difference between Bestfriend and Special Friend, that makes Bestfriend unique from the other?

People say, the boyfriend of a girl or the girlfriend of the boy, or the friend which you have a romantic understanding with is the Special friend. In other words, it the person which you have romantic feelings for, is your special friend.

In that belief, we can say that the Bestfriend is the one who knows you inside and out, who knows your feelings and your understandings. Rather than the special friend which is still GTKY or Getting To Know You.

But in my belief, a Bestfriend is still considered as a Special friend. EXCEPT, that the bestfriend is the one whom both of you have a mutual understanding to each other. Which means, you consider your friend as your bestfriend while your bestfriend consider you as his/her bestfriend also. In special friends, its not like that, in my belief. Special friends doesnt have a mutual understanding, its either you consider him/her as a special friend but not vise versa.

Whether my belief or the other peoples belief is right. Friends are still friends, but not all are true.
