They said “Men by nature always need something more!”

February 27, 2007

“Men by nature always need something more!” Did you say this? Did I say this? Then who did?

Men by nature always need something more. What thing? How much more? Nature? Am I included there? Is our Programming Teacher included there? Is my PK character included there? Or is it refering to all Men.

Honestly, i never heard of this saying. Nor has the net. I actually researched more about this kind of saying and I had been bad in searching since I did not find any actual results to collide with the saying. But as time passes on (in my watch its 11:47pm), I realized that this is actually quite true, not only to Men, but to all.

Whether we like it or not. We do crave for something more. Its because of Jelousy, greed and selfishness. We tend to get more than what is needed for us. We crave for something more delicious, strong, higher, easier or even mightier. Even if we dont need it, we would consider them as a need, thus the term "Need" in the sayings.

Why by nature? Because its our nature to crave and "need". If we have some low-end phones, we "need" high-end ones, because its the technology era. Whether we want to be a part of this or not. We are a part of it.

“Men by nature always need something more!”

Why Many Skillful Filipinos are working abroad?

Have you ever heard of the S with the double bar? or as we say, $ or Dollar? or the Y with the equal sign in the middle, or as we say Yen? These are just examples of the answers needed for the question Why Many Skillful Filipinos are working abroad?.

Nowadays, people tend to get course degrees in college, for them to graduate with flying colors and get away from the country, we know and love (or not). Nursing became a very demanding course in the Philippines because other countries are in need of Nursing. We can only count nursing graduates that stays in the Philippines to become a nurse or a C.I., almost all went to America or other neighboring and miles away countries.

The first ever thing that comes to people’s mind when they want to work abroad, is not experience but money. And those who go abroad are not the "low-leveled mind" kind but the smart ones. They apply and get jobs that is high in salary. So, not only we lose Filipino people but skillful ones. They are only thinking of money and how they will give it to their loved ones waiting at the Philippines.

They need money to help their loved ones. But why abroad? They give high-salary? Can Peso compete with Dollar? Guess.

My Best Teacher in Life!

February 25, 2007

My best teacher in life. It could be a person, experience or thing. I should say, that my best teacher in life is a person. Person’s, I should say, the "Persons" that I say about is my Family.

My family are the ones who first held me and made me breath the air of the world. If it wasnt for them, I would never be born in this world, or even if I would, I would never known the world as what I know today. They were the ones who taught me, on how to survive in this world. They were the ones who made my "Do’s and Dont’s in the World Rule Book". Not only did they cared for me and made me as I am today. They taught me the ways of life.

Another teaching that they had done to me is in my Mental abilities. Becuase, it it wasnt for their teaching I couldnt have walk or even stand today. It was them who made me first talk the languages that I am using now. It was my family who supported my studies all this way to college, and had helped me in my homework, assignments and even projects, when they have time.

How can they be not my best teachers? They are the ones who made me as I am. If it werent for them I have been thin today and not this "healthy"

What will I expect when we say Students’ Day?

Honestly, I had never gone to a school that celebrates Student’s day. So, ill say something, according to what I think about when I hear the event "Student’s Day".

It was on UIC which I had also encountered the "Teacher’s Day" event that made the teacher have their own rest day, and the students will be the one who will become teachers. In one of my perspective, the students day is, in which, the student will also have their own "rest day", or so might say, FUN day. Where there will be no classes, full of fun and games and full of "student" surprises.

Another perspective of mine is that, it will become like the teachers day. The teachers will act as students, (thin chance). And kind of corny, teachers as students? Oh well.. I cant say anything on a topic that I dont know about. Oh well. Thats it.

The Essence of the ITE Festival in the Life of ITE Students

February 23, 2007

The ITE Festival was a huge success in our Program, ITE. It was two days of pure Information Technology Fun, Games, Sports, Graphic Contests and Battle of the Brains. It was also two days of learning and experience.

The ITE festival featured academic contests like the Quiz Bowl and the Programming contest. I joined both of those activities and it was only in one day. Both of those contests really gave us, the contestants, a hard time and we really learned a lot from the said contests. The quiz bowl questions were really hard, even during the easy round, the question ranges from the first year (first semester) subjects to the fourth year (second semester). Even just the computer fundamentals questions were really hard to answer, but then again, we learned a lot from the questions.

Graphic contest gives out the artistic sides of the ITE students. As Ray Rubio once said "It needs 80% talent and 20% skill to create those things [Pictures]." As said, it really needs ore talent than skill, I know how to make those things but havent got the talent to think what to draw. So, the graphics contest had done amazing experiences to those ITE students who joined the said contests.

Sports were really one of the events that many had participated. It gives out the sporting minds of ITE students, eventhough we are Technology related students, we still have the brawns to play the games of the times. The sporting events consists of the Basketball, Volleyball and Table Tennis.

The finale of the ITE festival was the ITE night. The ITE night consists of the Modern Dance and MTV spoof programs. Those programs were really fun and also funny. The modern dance were really cool to watch and some were conviniently funny. The MTV spoof was the really fun to watch, since it really is supposed to be funny to capture the eyes of the viewers. It showed the fun side of the ITE students and their talents in dancing.
